The iMac lives! It took installing rEFIt bootloader, I had a lot of issues trying to get Alpine installed, when I went to an old version of Ubuntu (16.04) I was able to get it installed on the drive and it’s updating now to 18.04 and I’ve been able to bring up the web pages I need!
